We have some incredible updates for you and CCCF from the Ukraine Paediatric Fellowship Program!

In April, we welcomed back to SickKids Dr. Yuriy Kolivoshko, a paediatric general surgeon from the Lviv City Children’s Clinical Hospital, for a year-long fellowship with our world-renowned Division of General and Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Kolivoshko participated as an observer in December 2014. More updates on the Program can be found here: Ukraine Paediatric Fellowship Program Update »

In May, we hosted Dr. Dymtro Kvit, Physician-in-Chief at Lviv City Children’s Clinical Hospital, at SickKids for a week-long visit to learn about some of our best practices of hospital administration and emergency medicine. Dr. Kvit, Dr. Kolivoshko and I had the pleasure of being interviewed on RADIO KONTAKT GlobalMaidan On-air Roundtable on May 22, 2016: RADIO CONTACT GlobalMaidan On-Air Roundtable »

In June, our stellar team of Dr. Myroslava Romach (Medical Director of Ukraine Paediatric Fellowship Program), Dr. Jim Rutka (Program Director of Ukraine Paediatric Fellowship Program and Neurosurgeon at SickKids), Dr. Eric Bouffet (Director of SickKids Brain Tumour Program, Haemotologist/Oncologist and current President of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology), and Dr. Andrea Andrade (Paediatric Neurologist at Children’s Hospital – London Health Sciences Centre) participated in our 6th Advisory Trip to Ukraine.

Team members  delivered lectures at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv on perinatal and maternal mental health and the Danylo Halitsky Medical University on paediatric neurology. We also provided lectures and clinical consultation and surgery supervision at some of our partner hospitals – Lviv City Children’s Clinical Hospital, Western Ukraine Specialized Hospital in Lviv, Romodanov Neurosurgical Institute in Kyiv and The National Cancer Institute in Kyiv.

We could not do any of this great work without your incredible generosity. Thank you so much!
